In addition to his commitment to West Parade Osteopaths, Stephen has an extensive academic career.  He is professor of osteopathy at the University of Bedfordshire and the British School of Osteopathy in London where he has taught since 1978. The BSO is the oldest and largest school of osteopathy in Europe, with more than 400 students.  Stephen's appointment as professor was the first University appointment in the UK. He is also involved in lecturing and teaching Worldwide.

Stephen has been in practice for 34 years, and has extensive experience, particularly with the treatment of children. He completed his PhD in the philosophy of health care in 2001.

 

 

 

Stephen: Usually Monday, Tuesday and Thursday though these vary sometimes as a result of teaching commitments.

Paddy Searle-Barnes

Paddy Searle-Barnes qualified in 1983 and taught undergraduates at the BSO from 1988 until 2009. In 1998 he published a major textbook on osteopathic diagnosis, aimed at both graduates and student osteopaths, which has been well received by the profession. 

 

He has a special interest in the care of patients with respiratory problems, and also those with chronic pain, espcially chronic spinal pain.

 

Paddy: Monday, Wednesday morning and Friday in Lincoln, All dayTuesday and Thursday morning in Collingham

Louise has recently returned to work at West Parade Osteopaths following a move to Chester and an academic career working at Leeds Metropolitan University. In February 2008 she completed a PhD degree at Manchester University.  

She is currently available for consultation on Saturday mornings and occasional evenings.

Jacquelyn Schirmer 

Jacquelyn joined the practice with over 10 years of experience in teaching bodywork (her London business is called Presence Pilates specialising in pre and post-natal exercise).  In addition to standard osteopathic treatment, she is able to provide the next level of care for rehabilitation of musculo-skeletal problems.
